APPLICATION ENGINEER

GREATER MANCHESTER - OFFICE/HOMEBASED

Salary: £28K - £33K (Depending on Experience) + 26 Days Holiday plus Bank Holidays + Company Pension after 3 Months + On Site Parking + Cycle to Work Scheme + Sick Pay

Working Hours: 37.5 Hours - Monday to Friday

Our client is an industry-leading software house specialising in bespoke CAD/CAM and design workflow management solutions to the global packaging industry.

Our client is looking to recruit an Application Engineer to join their team. They are looking for a dynamic and driven individual to join their growing UK team and work with their rapidly developing web and CAD applications for the packaging producers and tool manufacturers in the industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To investigate, identify, design, and implement customer-specific workflow solutions
  • Working closely with the customer, defining a specification, and agreeing on KPIs and a suitable timeframe for solution delivery
  • Supporting new and existing customer accounts, working closely with customers/team members to ensure issues and requests are resolved to the customer's satisfaction and logged within their helpdesk
  • Contributing to and updating user reference material with each new product release
  • Supporting customers in solution testing and reporting as well as communicating with the development team
  • Optionally, training customers on new/updated features as they are released

Experience Required:

  • Fundamental technical training (secondary technical school, technical university or similar qualifications, HNC, HND, BSc, BEng)
  • Experience in programming skills in a high-level language (C#, C/C++, JAVA Script, VBScript, Structured Text)
  • SQL, installation of databases, writing queries, and data analysis skills
  • Independent, solution-oriented work methods
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and diagnostic capabilities
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision, both independently and as part of a larger team
  • Good general IT skills

Additional Skills that will help towards this role:

  • Experience with application programming interfaces (APIs), or standalone application development on any platform
  • Experience in one or more of the following technical areas: network configuration, web technologies, technical documentation writing, in-depth knowledge of Windows and Windows Server platforms, Windows Services, IIS, SSIS
  • 2D/3D CAD experience
  • Good presentation skills
  • Willingness to travel
  • Foreign languages, verbal or written
  • Experience in the packaging industry
