TERRITORY: Carlisle down to Birmingham and Liverpool across to Leeds

Salary Guide: £45K-50K (Flexible Depending on Experience) + 26% sales target related bonus + company car + 25 days holiday + bank holidays + 4.5% matched company contribution pension scheme

Our client is a specialist in the manufacturing of high quality conventional corrugated packaging, due to the company undergoing major investment in new machinery they are currently looking to recruit a Business Development Manager to cover the North West Region. You will be reporting to the Sales Manager and they are looking for someone to be focused and driven to seek new business opportunities in qualified market sectors that fit the business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • This role is a split of 70% New Business and 30% Managing Existing Accounts.
  • The sales area will cover Carlisle down to Birmingham and Liverpool across to Leeds.
  • You will grow and identify new business opportunities.
  • Using your consultative selling skills, listening to what the customer wants, you will build strong relationships with prospects and customers by understanding their requirements and identifying appropriate packaging solutions.
  • To actively seek and identify new business opportunities in FMCG markets.
  • Develop accounts so that they represent a portfolio that avoids transactional purchasing and maximises the added value product and service offering.
  • Identify potential key accounts with significant growth potential in conjunction with the Regional Business Development function.
  • Ensure customers' expectations are met and exceeded in all aspects.
  • Be an ambassador for the company at all times.
  • Support clients' technical needs in alignment with defined sales strategy.
  • Promote the company range of innovation products and performance papers.
  • Promptly process client requests regarding pricing policy, claims, samples & specifications.
  • Organise and host client sales reviews as appropriate in line with customer expectation.
  • Margin enhancement through continuous focus and improvement initiatives.
  • Develop/maintain effective working relationships with both customers and internal teams.
  • Completion of sales reporting in set formats, to the agreed standards and within set time.


  • Excellent relationship building skills.
  • Previous experience of working in the Corrugated industry.
