BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER - PHARMACEUTICAL PACKAGING

Home-Based Role Covering the UK Region

Salary: £45-50K DOE + Company Car + Comprehensive Benefits Package

Working Hours: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM Monday to Thursday, 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM on Fridays

Our client is a reputable and forward-thinking designer and manufacturer of primary packaging solutions, catering to major brands across various industries both within the UK and internationally. Reporting directly to the UK Sales Manager, they are now seeking a dedicated specialist in pharmaceutical packaging to manage existing accounts while spearheading efforts to secure new business opportunities, ensuring the optimal utilisation of factory resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Visit potential clients to generate new business.
  • Plan routes to optimise time and resources.
  • Submit visit and monthly sales reports.
  • Manage sales forecasts and attend sales meetings.
  • Use trade shows, publications, and networking to find business opportunities.
  • Follow up on leads from the website and business desk.
  • Negotiate contracts and prepare agreements.
  • Convert initial orders into ongoing accounts.
  • Research new markets and opportunities for growth.
  • Identify PR and social media opportunities to boost visibility.
  • Keep the CRM system updated with client details.
  • Encourage client visits to showcase processes.
  • Regularly visit the factory floor to stay informed.

Person Specification:

  • At least 3 years in a commercial sales role.
  • Experience in fast-paced customer-facing environments.
  • General business knowledge with strong project management skills.
  • Commercially aware with strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Manufacturing or glass industry experience (desirable).
  • GCSE/O-Level in English and Maths required, business qualifications are a plus.
  • PC literate.
