CONVERSION ARTIST - CORRUGATED PACKAGING
NORTH WEST
Salary £14.45ph and £15.52ph when working Fri/Sat/Sun Nights + Overtime at 1.37 times hourly rate + 20 Days Holiday
Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off on a Rolling Shift Pattern including Weekends
Days: 6am till 6pm / Nights: 6pm till 6am
Our client is a leading family-owned supplier of corrugated and pharmaceutical packaging. They are involved in the conversion of Corrugated Sheets into Corrugated Cartons.
They are looking to recruit a Conversion Artist to be part of the team at one of their sites based in the North West. They are looking for someone who is reliable, and willing to learn how to use all equipment within the plant that is fully automated. All training for the machinery operation and maintenance will be provided including external training of First Aid, Fire Awareness and Forklift Operation if needed.
The following machinery will be involved within this role overtime:
- Material Handling System and associated Software
- Flexo Folder Gluers
- Rotary Die cutters
- Multi Point Gluers
- Flat Bed Die cutters
- Box Makers and associated Finishing Equipment
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate in line with Health and Safety regulations set out in the training
- Ensure that the machine is producing Quality products at all times
- Ensure all maintenance and Housekeeping is carried out and recorded
- Strive to hit all your KPI`s daily (Runspeed, set times, downtime, 5S, Quality and waste)
- Work within a team and communicate well even under pressure, and take full responsibility for the quality of product and team when responsible
- Communicate with the responsible person for any health and safety issues, maintenance issues or matters of concern on the floor
- Be at the machine ready to operate promptly at the time of start and hand over to incoming colleague in a comprehensive manner
- Leave your machine and workspace Clean and tidy, paperwork in order and tooling etc
- Use PPE and wear appropriate clothing as provided. (This may include in time a uniform, and may include abiding by Jewellery policies etc that may become applicable through further Certifications the company decides to undertake)
- Any other reasonable request by management
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a modern manufacturing environment
- Willingness to operate a Forklift following the correct training
- Willingness to take part in First Aid and Fire Awareness Training
- Strong levels of initiative with a 'can do' attitude
- High levels of Health and Safety Awareness
- Good/Strong IT and Numerical Skills
- Reasonable Physical Exeterion within Health and Safety Regulations
- Strong Organisational Skills
