ENGINEERING SUPERVISOR - PACKAGING

Continental Shift Pattern - 12 Hour Days and Nights Rotating
Our client is a leading packaging company who produce a range of high-end packaging for a wide variety of market sectors including confectionery, food, beverage, cosmetics, childcare and healthcare markets. They have an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Supervisor to join their team.
The purpose of the role is to provide machinery capability, reliability and availability to the operations team using sound engineering techniques, combining knowledge of preventive, predictive and reactive methodologies. The engineering supervisor will be directly responsible for 4 Shift Engineers. You will be maintaining and enhancing machine performance and efficiency, inclusive of safety at work.
Responsibilities:
- Efficiently manage and support a team of Engineers of all disciplines on a day to day basis
- Ensuring consistent operational delivery through smart working and the efficient execution of their day to day tasks
- Advise and provide assistance to the Engineers on any technical matters
- Give advice on business needs, including parts and timings of prevention
- Improve service delivery performance and reduce costs where possible
- Ensure KPI's are achieved by all Engineers
- Maintain and develop performance inclusive of nurturing /training.
- Undertake HR process such as informal and formal discussions, investigation meetings and any other HR related issues as required
- Manage all aspects of H&S in relation to all works from planning to completion, including RAMS, COSHH, Permits, Contractors etc
- Assist in the development of the plant engineering strategy and execute it
- Liaise with suppliers, internal key stakeholders, and partner with the Engineering Manager
Requirements:
- 5 years' experience in a similar role and leading engineering/maintenance teams
- Electrical and mechanical experience
- Knowledge of using Microsoft office and SAP
- Prior knowledge in using SHIRE maintenance software (desirable)
- Industry or other fast moving production environment, desirable in packaging
- Knowledge of maintenance principles
