EXTERNAL SALES / BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Our client is a customer-focused and service-led label and labelling provider, manufacturing plain and printed labels, thermal transfer ribbons, and other labelling supplies.

They are now seeking an experienced External Sales / Business Development Manager to drive new business growth while developing and maintaining strong relationships with existing customers. This is a field-based role with responsibility for identifying new opportunities, managing key accounts, and supporting the company's continued expansion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively identify, target, and develop new business opportunities within relevant markets.
  • Manage and grow an existing portfolio of customers, building long-term relationships.
  • Prepare and present customer quotations and negotiate commercial terms.
  • Attend customer meetings to understand requirements and offer tailored solutions.
  • Maintain accurate sales records, forecasts, and CRM data.
  • Liaise with internal teams to ensure smooth processing of orders and customer satisfaction.
  • Support customer engagement strategies and contribute to sales growth plans.
  • Resolve customer issues and queries in a professional and timely manner.
  • Represent the business at client sites and industry events where required.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Proven experience in an External Sales or Business Development role (B2B experience preferred) within the plain or printed label / labelling solutions sector .
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated, driven, and target oriented.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a small team environment.
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving and customer management.
  • Strong customer focus with a "can-do" attitude.
  • Competent with Word, Excel, and CRM systems (Sage knowledge desirable).
  • Full UK driving licence required.
