As a leading European print & packaging company, Coveris are currently recruiting for an apprentice glue minder to join our production team based at our St Neots’ Cromwell Road site. This is an excellent opportunity to gain work-place experience and help make the future within the packaging industry. This finishing career journey will suit a motivated, hands-on individual who wants to develop a long-lasting career within a technologically advanced industry.
You will complete a Level 3 Print Technician qualification via Learn 2 Print over 2-3 years. You would be required to attend training in Kettering 1 day per week. There will also be a requirement to visit some of our Lincolnshire sites to learn some different print processes.
£9ph. Pay is reviewed yearly.
Monday – Friday 9am-5pm whilst completing the apprenticeship. After completion of apprenticeship, the role would revert to a shift pattern.

Key Areas of Responsibility
- Assist with monitoring and control carton quality
- Support the department to maximise machine efficiencies
- Support the department to minimise Downtime
- Ensure all standard operating procedures are adhered to (e.g. PPE, health and safety, hygiene and operational standards)
- Assist with completing all related paperwork and input data accurately to ensure carton quality checks can be carried out, as per training given
- Support the department to ensure machine speeds are always optimised
- Support the department to ensure any defect print is highlighted to Team Leader and QA department and that it is flagged correctly
- Flexibility to provide holiday cover in line with production agreement, and provide sickness cover where possible
- Ensure effective shift handover is carried out
- Maintain good housekeeping
Key Requirements
- Entry requirement – 5 GCSE’s at Grade 4 or above including Maths and English
- Driving licence desired – There will be day releases to college and site visits
- Good attendance and timekeeping
- Ability to problem solve
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Good organisational and self-motivational skills
- High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
