Our client is one of the leading pallet and box supplier in the UK and Europe. They specialise in suppling to Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) chains and industrial sectors. As a company they offer high-quality pallets and boxes to improve supply chain efficiency and reducing the environmental impact.
They are currently looking to recruit for a Head of Commercial Contracting. This role is a senior role, operating as the head of department within the commercial contracting function within the company. You will be fully responsible for the commercial contracting function ad work closely with customers/suppliers, relevant authorities, industry representatives and other heads of department within the UK and European Business ensuring you drive the business forward in line with the customer requirements and strategic priorities.
This role is pivotal in nurturing in a growth mindset across the business, driving group-wide transformation initiatives and supporting European alignment teams to achieve the company's strategic ambitions. You will be responsible from transforming concepts to reality.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Maximise utilisation of customer engagement software, and/or, tools available within and beyond the business to generate periodic reports which monitors the key performance of their contracting portfolio and wider environment impacts, within the commercial contracting function
  • Responsible for the commercial contracting key performance indicators and continuous improvements across the commercial contracting area of the business to include all measurable parameters
  • Reporting and auditing on a weekly/monthly basis to ensure you are achieving the budgeted volumes as agreed
  • Reporting any trends/variations to relevant stakeholders, that could demonstrate opportunities or risks
  • Implement and develop sales reporting functionalities in order to track and monitor conversion rates
  • Responsible for developing a framework for monitoring commercial contracting insights, which shall allow the business to build short/medium/long-term commercial sales strategies in line with company ambitions
  • Accountable for building and maintaining a variety of data bases in order to promote the company to the correct audience/sector/position, within a marketing campaign framework, whilst maintaining data integrity
  • Interpret information sources and data outputs accurately, whilst carefully observing GDPR compliance when applicable
  • Develop and present monthly business updates to the company EU Marketing community and wider business to showcase the work of the UK business unit
    Pipeline reporting to include all key characteristics within the industry, utilising internal systems such as CRM (CE), and aligning across the EU team
  • Responsible for all audit requests within commercial contracting function
  • Effective use and management of related Power BI modules and its related data
  • Impact analysis on risks and opportunities alongside trends and benchmarks relating to the business
  • Accountable for the delivery of outstanding sales collaboration with the wider account management team in support of new business development and customer retention
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining an efficient streamlined process to support the delivery of new business growth and commercial opportunities
  • Monitor and evaluate performance indicators to ensure you capture all opportunities in the contract cycles
  • Ensure you offer an excellent, seamless implementation to all customers, exceeding expectations and ensuring no supply chain is compromised
  • Define and implement a commercial contract framework with a view to continuously improve via automation/technology
  • Understand the dynamics of the market you operate in in order to seek internal/external feedback in the support of improving the commercial contracting service within the company
  • Identify automated improvements to support the future thinking plans of the business aligned with relevant projects
  • Identify and attend events that may have commercial or strategic advantage for the company and showcase the business to drive brand recognition, and support growth ambitions
  • Engage with current and potential customers with professionalism & integrity at all times
  • Organise and conduct customer engagement events and meetings in agreement with line manager with a view to supporting wider business requirements
  • Responsible for optimising processes and working procedures within the department, resulting in continuous performance improvements in the commercial contracting function
  • Implement and maintain best practices with regard to customer experience for onboarding and contract renewal cycles
