KEY ACCOUNT MANAGER / BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER - FOOD PACKAGING
HOME BASED MIDLANDS / SOUTHERN ENGLAND
UP TO £68K Basic salary + Bonus + Car Allowance + 5% pension + Private Healthcare
Our client, a leading International manufacturer of packaging for the food industry, is seeking an experienced and driven Key Account Manager or Business Development Manager to join their team.
This role is critical in maintaining strong relationships with key accounts or focusing on identifying and securing new business opportunities particularly within major food groups in markets such as Meat/ Protein / Poultry, Ready Meals, Bakery, Fresh Produce, Desserts etc., and will possess the skills required to manage existing accounts and the commercial acumen to drive business growth. This is a primarily home-based role with occasional travel to site for meetings or client visits.
Key Responsibilities depending on allocated role:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients, ensuring their needs are consistently met.
- Act as the primary contact for assigned accounts, handling inquiries, complaints, and providing solutions.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the food sector to expand the client base.
- Collaborate with internal teams-including sales, marketing, logistics, and design-to deliver exceptional service to clients.
- Monitor account performance, analyse sales data, and prepare detailed reports on progress, goals, and forecasts.
- Negotiate contracts and ensure timely delivery of commitments to meet client expectations.
- Attend industry events, trade shows, and training sessions to stay ahead of market trends and client needs.
- Work closely with the internal team to develop innovative and commercially viable solutions for customers.
Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience in account management or business development, ideally with major food groups in the packaging sector.
- A strong track record of success in growing accounts or developing new business opportunities.
- Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM tools.
- Strong negotiation, organisational, and leadership abilities.
- A results-driven mindset with the ability to manage multiple clients or projects simultaneously.
- A full UK Driving Licence is required.
