Job Description

Machine Operative (Machine Setter / Operator / General Assistant)

Our client has been established for over 25 years and has grown into a well-known and respected company delivering top quality work. Their client list boasts anything from a local shop to SME’s right through to Global companies and everything in between. They are renowned for their ability to fulfil their client’s requirements from sending out a leaflet, to direct mail to complete print and fulfilment services including daily picking and packing orders and all things ecommerce too.

Your prime responsibility will be the setting and running of all machinery including poly-wrapping machinery, envelope enclosing machinery together with setting and programming camera-based computer systems, folding machines, inkjets and tabbing machines.

In addition, you will fit into their busy production department as and where required depending on the needs of the business.

The role will include but not be limited to:

  • Setting and running a number of different machines (full training will be provided).
  • Ensuring all mechanised jobs are produced in the most efficient way possible
  • Hand fulfilment, bagging, stock control, warehouse duties etc.
  • Maintaining and following processes and procedures with documented records
  • Following all Quality Control processes and procedures

The successful applicant will be expected to have a can-do attitude and willingness to get stuck into the daily needs of the business.

An understanding of the Direct Mail Industry is preferred although machinery setting and running experience is essential, preferably within a busy factory operating multiple mechanical operations.

Ideally, you will have experience of large run poly-wrapping with knowledge of SITMA technology together with an understanding of Buhrs technology would be beneficial plus an aptitude for operating computer-based camera systems would be a distinct advantage, although full training will be provided for the right individual.

The ideal candidate must be self-motivated, organised and able to work under pressure. They must be forward thinking and actively looking for ways to increase production processes and improve workflow.

If you've got a curious mind as to how all things mechanical work and have a willingness to learn new skills, this opening really could be a fantastic opportunity for you so send in your CV to us ASAP!
