National Business Development Manager – Printed Folded Cartons

Job Description

Current expansion has resulted in a Business Development Manager opening within a print-based specialty packaging business that focuses on healthcare, food and high-end consumer markets. This business provides its customers with an extensive array of premium folding cartons, inserts, labels and rigid packaging across a variety of substrates and finishes. 
Reporting to the Head of UK Sales, your mission is to develop existing printed folded cartons customers, and to research, identify and target new products, market sectors and customers. 
How You Will Impact Our Client: 
• Implement the sales development plan, winning new business and managing resources 
• Target and develop new sales relationships to increase sales volume and maximise profitability 
• Provide detailed market analysis (including competitor activity and market trends) to support strategic business development 
• Acquire and maintain a thorough knowledge of the relevant market sectors to identify and exploit business opportunities 
• Project manage the introduction of new customers into the business ensuring their effective handover to the internal account management teams 
• Provide accurate short, medium and long-term forecasts to support business planning activities 
What You Need To Succeed: 
• Experience in a carton, label or leaflet print sales role 
• Solid knowledge of the printing process 
• Experience of a manufacturing environment 
• Budget management 
• Proven selling & closing skills 
• Demonstrated communication & presentation skills 
• Strong negotiation skills 
• High commercial awareness (including estimating/pricing) 
• Good PC skills (including PowerPoint/Excel) 
• Project management skills 
• Driven with a sense of urgency to achieve results 
• Clear and effective communicator at all levels
