Job Description

We are looking for Packaging Production Manager,with a backgroundworking within a creative agency environment. You will have a high level of print production experience, ideally in FMCG packaging. You will have a solid understanding of packaging production processes and techniques, the creative process and artwork. You will be able to demonstrate excellent project management skills and attention to detail, able to check over artwork and have an appreciation for creativity, ideas, design and typography.

This role in collaboration with the Studio/Resource Manager ensures projects remain on schedule, on budget and adjusts schedules and resourcing as required.

An energetic, strong and robust character is needed to establish and maintain artwork standards, best working practices and promote the agency’s core values and behaviours. You will also need to be approachable and confident as you will be a trusted advisor to the studio and broader project teams.

The role is based within our studio in Angel and will report to the Operations Director.


Job Responsibilities: 
What's expected:
  • Assess project and resources requirements in collaboration with the Studio/Resource Manager
  • Estimating, negotiating and agreeing timescales with account teams
  • Monitoring creative and production; adjusting resource plans as needed
  • Hold daily stand ups ensuring all team members are informed
  • Question and challenge briefs where where appropriate to achieve better results
  • Ensure that briefs are accurate and communicated clearly
  • Support the account management team to producedetailed technical briefs for production
  • Arrange and chair creative WIP and artwork sign off meetings
  • Partner with the account and studio teams to identify and resolve project issues swiftly
  • Identify and deliver process improvements to improve efficiency, accuracy, speed and quality
  • Ensure critical path deadlines are maintained
  • Overseeing production processes are adhered to
  • Proactively monitor the quality, accuracy and consistency of the studio
Team Work:
  • Develop a strong relationship with the Creative Director and Account Directors to ensure the highest possible creative output andaccuracy
  • Develop effective working relationships with broader team, working in collaboration to become a key trusted partner
  • Liaise with the account and studio teams to ensure quality of service
  • Build relationships within the wider Schawk production network
  • Be a positive and calming influence in the team and ensure that team members maintain a professional attitude
  • Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-orientated environment
  • Mentor and train new team members in studio process and workflows
  • Buddy team members for holiday and sickness

Broad Requirements:
  • Provide key technical support to the Operations Director and Studio/Resource Manager
  • Escalate issues to the Operations Director as appropriate
  • Ensure that administration, company process and standards are maintained
  • Help identify opportunities and communicate these to the relevant channels
  • Take responsibility for your continued professional development and identifying your training requirements in collaboration with the operations director
Qualifications / Requirements: 
  • Fluent in the use of relevant design and office software - Adobe Creative Suite, Office etc
  • Sound technical knowledge and attention to detail across pack creative and production
  • Ability to work under own initiative and solve problems as they arise
  • Strong time and project management skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
