Job Description

Our client is  a Global leader in colour cosmetics, fragrance, haircare & skincare.  To stand out on the shelves, their products need creative packaging that attracts customers.   We’re looking for a Packaging Technologist to bring these designs to life, supporting new product initiatives and overseeing their cost and production. Each day is going to bring exciting challenges and responsibilities, coordinating across a number of teams, including Global Initiative and Research & Development to develop and implement innovative packaging.

In this role you will:

  • Develop secondary and tertiary packaging solutions
  • Support cost optimisation through the resourcing of components to alternative suppliers
  • Contribute to issue resolution such as Root Cause Analysis by providing packaging knowledge support to Production and Quality functions
  • Report on component supplier performance
  • Support component and finished goods testing
  • Manage production line trials for packaging and product validation
  • Perform data administration for packaging aspects of business software to include Bills of Materials and logistics data
  • Negotiate across different functions internally in terms of time, resource management and stakeholder management
  • Manage projects – steering, problem solving, planning, cost saving, innovation

Essential

  • Knowledge of packaging materials and manufacture for cosmetics, including molding, metal pressing and print technologies
  • Experience in the New Product Development process, including systems, financial and project management
  • Procurement and commercial awareness of supplier management

Desirable

  • The ability to manage priorities
  • Working knowledge of business project management tools, including Microsoft Office Suite and SAP
