As Packaging Technologist you will manage all aspects of packaging development projects to add value to Tangerine Confectionery.

 Key accountabilities will also include:

  • Ensure specifications for new and amended packaging materials are defined, controlled and integrated into business systems.

  • Specify new and amended packaging materials ensuring they are designed, manufactured and delivered to site fit for purpose to agreed quality, cost and timescales.

  • Advise NAM’s/Brand Managers/customers/Operations in the making of packaging related decisions and their impact.

  • Arrange and manage packaging trials to ensure that new packaging is fit for purpose.

  • Provide Brand Managers/customers with appropriate packaging information necessary to generate artwork and manage the artwork and approval process.

  • Agree critical paths with NAM’s/Brand Managers/NPD/customers/suppliers/Operations for the packaging elements of projects, and to manage and deliver projects against these critical paths.

  • Provide specifications for the packaging elements of new projects and to facilitate accurate costing and the making of good commercial decisions.

    Applicants must have a minimum of 2 years packaging development experience preferably within an FMCG food/confectionery industry, along with knowledge of packaging and printing technology, methods and materials within the food/confectionery industry.  As well as the ability to initiate and drive developments to completion against challenging timescales

     You must also be IT literate with good Microsoft Office knowledge and a high level of general education.  The ideal candidate will be pro-active and energetic have strong communication and influencing skills across all levels, with excellent attention to details.

     A full current driving licence is required as this role will involve travel to other sites in the Group.
