About the Company

The Company is based in the South East of England and is a family owned business that has been around for over 50 years. We are a manufacturer and supplier of printed folded cartons. We supply printed packaging to companies across the UK in a variety of markets including food, beverage, healthcare, pharmaceutical, cosmetics, confectionery and technology. Offering a full service from design concept to manufacturing and delivery

The Opportunity and Key Responsibility

Ensuring all production targets and standards are met on the production lines, safely, on time and within cost.

Communicate line targets and progress to operating team on a weekly basis.

Ensure quality standards are adhered to at all times.

Training new starters, managing output and downtime targets.

Prepare reports with daily / weekly production data and improve plant efficiency to ensure targets are met.

Closely supervise operating teams - implementing new processes/procedures.

Take full production responsibility of each Job Bag right from prepress area until delivery.

Develop sound knowledge of all machinery on the lines and basic operating ability.

Hold daily production meetings, report on previous days output.

Managing day to day staff queries and ensure return to work interviews and initial incident investigations are carried out.

Responsible for all Health and Safety on site, writing of all risk assessments and SOPS.

Planning all production staff holiday cover to ensure KPI’S are met and delivered on time.

Planning and batching schedules for manufacturing, reducing down time on set up, make ready and ensuring minimal production waste.

Prepare reports of individual job costing from a production perspective showing estimate against actual achieved. 

Involved in continuous improvement to ensure we meet modern manufacturing good practice and price, specking new machinery for improved productivity.

Help maintain and support the sites current BRC accreditation.

 What you need to succeed

Previous experience in the printed folded carton industry would be an advantage.

Excellent team, management, supervisory skills and the ability to communicate all at levels.

Well organised & excellent attention to detail.

A good technical knowledge of printing and packaging machinery.

Machine operating setting experience - Ideally you will have worked within the carton industry and have knowledge of print, die-cutters, use of ink/glues within a manufacturing environment.

Good knowledge of health & safety practices.

This role would be well suited to a candidate keen to progress in the future.
