Job role:

To Manage all areas of the Bakers business Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental systems with full responsibility to ensure compliance to BRC accreditation requirements and Product safety legislation. To ensure that all Health and Safety systems are followed and up to date with current legislation and regulations. To monitor and report on the environmental impact of the Bakers Business

 

Job Scope:

Bakers Materials, Baker Labels, BakPac & Sportstiks – All QHSE elements of these areas of the business

 

Key accountabilities:

  • Quality
    • Apply a continuous improvement attitude in all areas of quality management
    • To play a key role in the creation of BRC High Hygiene working practices for the BakPac department
    • To play a key role in the creation of BRC High Hygiene written systems
    • The ongoing Management of the BRC issue 6 Systems
    • Internal auditing in line with the BRC standard requirements
    • Prepare for and represent the company at audits (supported by Senior Management)
    • Work towards the introduction of ISO9001 2015
    • To have full control of the NCR system leading to solid investigative rout cause analysis and corrective action plans through a quality circle culture that involves the relevant departments and staff in the business
    • To ensure that customer responses are actioned in a timely and professional manner
    • Complete all customer questionnaires within required timelines
    • Ensure all suppliers are on an approved supplier list and all key suppliers to the BackPac business are fully assessed
    • To report quality KPI data and any relevant product safety legislation changes to the senior Management team on a monthly basis
  • H&S
    • Carry out all risk assessments across the business
    • Manage the COSH system ensuring that no unauthorised chemicals enter the building
    • Carry out annual PPE assessments and recommend improvements
    • Ensure that all new staff have full H&S inductions relevant to the area of the business they are to be working in
    • Install a near miss system and carry out tool box talks based on areas of concern
    • Follow up any incidents with investigations and corrective actions
    • Ensure that all First Aid kits and equipment are appropriately stocked
    • Create and run a Monthly HS&E meeting with representatives from all areas of the business
    • Report to the Senior Management team on a monthly basis any incidents, concerns, changes to legislation and general HS activity.
  • Environmental
    • Carry out Environmental impact assessments and recommend improvements
    • Work to reduce the levels of Land fill waste created by the business
    • Ensure all chemical waste is dealt with correctly and certificates stored safely
    • Create a system to record our packaging waste figures for reporting to customers (volume in weight of product shipped to customers)
    • Report to the Senior Management Team on a Monthly basis, waste levels to land fill, recycling and any new initiatives being worked on and changes to legislation that has an impact on the business
