Job Description

As part of the Product Development Team you will be reporting operationally to the Global Head of R&D  & be a key contributor to the Global Product Development organization responsible for delivering innovative packaging solutions aligned with global strategy, leading product categories and consumers’ insights.

Working across a  global portfolio, the ideal candidate will  have proven experience in the packaging field & be able to offer a strong/viable technical position, while bringing valuable and meaningful solutions to the brands and markets we support.


Maintain awareness of technical knowledge by keeping current on literature and by monitoring & meeting regularly with packaging suppliers 

Provide scientific and technical inputs in the ideation and evaluation phase translating consumer insights into innovative and technically robust packaging, 

Actively cooperate with other Team Members (e.g. Marketing, Formulation, Scientific Claim Management, MS&T, Operations and Procurement) to develop agile and comprehensive packaging development strategy ensuring quality and cost leadership while complying with consumer insights,

Define and oversee prospective, performance and compliance packaging studies, 

Anticipate and recognize risks, analyze data, identify root causes, draw conclusion and deliver solid technical report with viable packaging solutions to enable stakeholders to make quality decisions,

Ensure robust and reliable management of the documentation associated with Packaging development, 

Understand packaging suppliers’ capabilities and limitations as well as mold functionalities and molding processes, 

Develop “environmental friendly” packaging solutions and contribute actively to the Sustainability program,

 Ensure compliance and safety of the developed packaging solutions, including delivery systems and medical devices, 

Author documents, provide consultation, review and provide guidance to support product registration, 

Education and Professional Experience/skills

MSc or equivalent degree in Engineering, Packaging Science or related technical discipline, 

5+ years of proven experience in package engineering and development, preferably in the cosmetics industry, 

Solid experience in working with a broad spectrum of materials, the manufacturing and functionality of primary, secondary and tertiary packaging, 

Experience in understanding regulations associated with Packaging Development and Medical Devices (e.g. ISO 13485, EC 1935/2004), 

Excellent understanding of analytical methods used to develop and validate packaging and medical devices solutions, 

Experience in developing sustainable packaging solutions; knowledge of LCA tools will be beneficial, 

Proficiency in English, 

Excellent written communication skills, 

Project Management skills, with an understanding of timing and financial impacts.
