South Wales

Salary - £30-35k DOE + Company Car

Company - Established in 1916 this is one of the largest label companies in the world, producing labels for the following industries; healthcare, home and personal care, food and beverage and wine and spirits. Employing 8000 people in 70 manufacturing facilities across 26 countries.

Overview - To facilitate and drive the development of new revenue generating projects from the original enquiry, through the product development process through to completion of the first successful production run.

Responsibilities:

  • Be first point of contact for all technical projects generated by the customers within your customer portfolio
  • Be the primary technical contact for all customers within your customer portfolio and the interface with production and sales
  • On receipt of a new project, manage it through the product development process by following the steps as laid out in the product development flow charts - including project definition, artwork review, press approval and finalisation of specifications, as applicable
  • Work closely with the Customer Engineer to ensure specifications are built in a timely manner and that any changes made during press approval are communicated such that the final specification is updated accordingly
  • Support the wider Sales group in the promotion of pressure sensitive label technology across both existing and future customers
  • Assist in the introduction and approval of new/alternative raw materials
  • Understand project timelines and performance expectations, monitor progress and actively self-manage project to meet related timelines
  • Prior to a press pass, confirm that all required proof, colour standards, testing specifications, and special instructions are available and that specification is correct

  • Support internal cross-departmental improvement projects
  • Deliver training upon manufacture and application of pressure sensitive technology to a wide customer base

The Candidate:

  • Minimum of 5 years print/packaging industry experience
  • Working knowledge of multiple print and pre-press technologies i.e. flexo, litho, screen, gravure
  • Experience of managing projects
  • Previous experience of working closely with customers and suppliers
  • Excellent computer skills including MS Office
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Proven interpersonal skills, dealing with all levels of seniority
  • Excellent written and report-writing skills
  • Proven decision-making ability
  • Flexibility to undertake international travel a short notice
