LAMINATOR / SLITTER - FLEXIBLE PACKAGING

Our client is a multi-award-winning company manufacturing and supplying flexible pouches. They are currently looking to recruit a flexible packaging converter.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience operating a Karlville Laminator (Thermal and Solventless) and a Karlville slitting line in a safe manner and produce quality film and pouches, meet production schedules and keep work area clean. Training can be provided.

Responsibilities:

  • To operate a Karlville slitter and a Karlville Laminator (Thermal and Solventless), whilst managing quality flexible pouches output.
  • To complete material/film lamination jobs when required.
  • Ensure material/film is laminated according to specification supplied, with extra attention applied to maintaining quality processes to both the raw material and the finished roll
  • Ensure that machine is kept clean and maintained as per company and manufacturer standards together with maintenance sheets completed in-line with company requirements
  • Report any issues with machine to team leader and/or Production Director
  • Ensure own working environment is kept in good order with all materials used being stored correctly and safely in line with BRC and ISO14001 environmental requirements
  • Assist in general factory routines as and when required
  • Ensuring that all policies for product quality, safety and hygiene are followed and that all incidents are reported immediately to Team Leader/Production Director

Requirements:

  • Experience of operating a Karlville (or similar) laminating / slitter line
  • Experience of lamination processes within flexible packaging
  • Good working knowledge of flexible pouches construction and conversion
  • Good understanding of digital print and finishing
  • Self-motivated and practical
  • Basic PC skills
  • Well organised, with ability to effectively manage own time and prioritise work

  • Good attention to detail
  • Ability to produce jobs correctly with high level of accuracy
  • Assertive and confident with the ability to ask for help and assistance when required
  • Good interpersonal skills, with ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with a range of people
  • Demonstrates a flexible approach to changing priorities and the ability to work under pressure, turn around jobs within an agreed time frame
